Re: Hospitalization

If a daily paid staff (security guard) works for less than 1 week with the Company and met with an accident (during off day). Is he entitle to the 60 days MC and full 60 days wages?

He is entitled to 14 days sick leave with pay if not hospitalised. If he is hospitalised, his hospitalisation entitlement can be up to 60 days.

Thanks Siew for the immediate response.

He was hospitalized for less than 1 week but was given MC due to fractured of his leg.

Does it mean we still have to pay him if the MC is for 60 days?

Number of days in hospital + 14 days normal sick leave is enough unless the doctor has certified that the period of recuperation at home is also to be treated as hospitalisation. You can also seek the advice of the Labour Department.
