Re: Resignation and Bonus entitlement

My company has informed me of my bonus $ and highlight that the bonus payment will be split into Q1 (this mth) and Q3 this year. When I tendered my resignation last week, I was told that I will not be getting my bonus as I am no longer entitled to any of my bonus after I have tendered my resignation.

I have checked my employee handbook and also my employment contract, this is not stated. Can my company do this?

Companies normally wouldn't pay bonus to resigned staff and I don't think there is much you can do about it.

I am still an employee of the company now, I have only tendered my resignation last Fri; hence I am still serving my 2 months notice - my official last day is 4th May 2011. Since I am still an employee in the month of March where the 1st bonus payment is given, am I not entitled to the 1st bonus payment?
