Hi, I am just started work in new company for 3 months and I have already get confirmation. But, at the same time, I also 2mths pregnancy. In my letter of offer stated that the employee will only entitle for 2 mths maternity leave if work more than a year. In this case, am I still get my paid maternity leave ?

First, you must be covered by the Employment Act, which means your salary is not more than RM1500. If you are covered, there should be no problem. If not, that clause "... if work more than a year.." stands. You may only be entitled to the 2 months maternity leave if confinement takes place after one year.

Thanks for fast response. Meaning employment act is only covered for those salary less than RM1,500? So, If salary is exceeded RM1,500 is up to respective company benefits and compensation, right ? And most of the company is practising no maternity leave for 1st year ?
