Re: MC & Sick Leave

Dear Mr. Siew,

Good day to you. I have 2 qs here:-

a) Employees who already tender her resignation but took MC before her last day. Is the MC payable?

b) With regards to the Sick Leave Entitlement as stated in the EA (same as in my company handbook), yet the company is practicing a standard 14 days of SL to all the employees regardless of how many years of service they are with the company. Is this an acceptable practice?

60F,

(aa) Where no hospitalisation is necessary:

(i) of fourteen days in the aggregate in each calendar year if the employee has been employed for less than two years;

(ii) of eighteen days in the aggregate in each calendar year if the employee has been employed for two years or more but less than five years;

(iii) of twenty-two days in the aggregate in each calendar year if the employee has been employed for five years or more; or
