Re: Anti-Competition

Hi all, will need your expertise in this clause:

"The Company imposes an anti-competition clause, which specifically prohibits you, whether directly or indirectly during your employment and for a period of 12 months after the termination of your employment from exercising employment or engaging in any business that is in competition in any manner whatsoever with the business of the Company, without prior written consent of the Company"

Will i be able to join a new company next year? In my industry, is very common for people to go around the industry.

Do I need to inform the Company where i'm going to, or it is my freedom to go anywhere i want to? I search for this "Anti-Competition" in the Malaysian Labor Law, but can't be found. Does this clause actually exist in our Malaysia Law?

If you are worried about that clause, consult a lawyer.
