Re: RM 1500

Hi,

would like to clarify that:

The employment act covers employees whose wages do not exceed RM 1500.

1) So does it mean a staff whose salary RM 1500/month still under coverage?

2) staff whose salary RM 1501 and above is not covered under employment act, am i right?

Appreciate for your kind advise. Thanks.

For non manual employees, you are right. Refer to the First Schedule

Notwithstanding the provision of the Employment Act, the powers of the Labour Department (to decide any dispute between an employee and his employer) shall extend to employees whose wages EXCEED RM1500 but does NOT exceed RM5,000.00.

Refer 69B EA.
