Re: Mc and Hospitalisation

Dear Siew

One of my staff met accident on 08 May but he had not admitted to hospital. Doctor gave him the MC is from 08 May - 08 July, 62 days. So this is consider as hospitalisation or just normal sick leave? Added, he claimed that he is not able to work on the 9 July. So he would like to take 23 days unpaid leaves. If he does not has enough unpaid leave cause is only 60 days per annum. So what the company can do on this case? please advise.

Accident happened during or after work? Since he was not hospitalised, he is only entitled to normal sick leave.

Accident during his off day. Normal sick leave only 14 days per annum. he has taken 62 days which mean 14 days are Sick Leaves and 48 days are unpaid leave.

Unpaid leave only 60 days per annum. Since he is taking another 23 days. Unpaid leave per annum is only left 12 days. Kindly advise on the balance 11 days.. Can i put it under unpaid leave again or any other way? please advise.. really panic.

No, it is not like that. This has nothing to do with the balance of 48 days. After he has finished the 14 days sick leave with pay, the rest will simply be no pay. If he still has annual leave left, he can take the annual leave. After finishing his annual leave, the rest will be no pay leave.
