Re: Dismissed during pregnancy

I'm 4.5 months pregnant and have been dimissed by my employer for non-performance/disloyal and was given a one month salary paid in lieu. I'm a temporary sales promoter and have worked for the company for close to 3 months with a basic pay of RM200 a month. Can I ask for compensation for dismissal during my pregnancy period? My salary is less than RM1500 a month. If yes, how much can I ask for compensation? Kindly advice.

You may seek redress at the Industrial Relations Department for reinstatement, that is to get back your job. Let them know your problems like what you are telling here and they may be able to help.

Can I get compensation if I do not wish to continue serving with the company?

You only worked for about 3 months, there is no compensation to talk about.

Till now, he didnt have offer letter because the employer didnt practice that since day 1 for all staff. Now the company want to terminate him without telling a reason. Can he proceed to Labour Dept for launch an complaint on his employer?
