May i know can it be accepted or is it right under the law if a staff just tender his resignation via email or sms? Kindly advise. Thanks

There is nothing to say can or cannot.
1. If it is notice for resignation, he or she should still be coming to work, Confirm it personally with that staff if you are not sure whether it true or someone is trying to cause trouble for the staff.
2. If the staff does not come to work anymore, it can be true then.
