Re: Resignation as a contractor

I have resigned from my previous company and i have given them 2 weeks notice based on the agreement signed before i joined the company. In the agreement also has been stated that i will get my salary within the period of my notice. They have promised me to pay my salary on my last day which was on the 6th of May and up until now they have not pay my salary yet. A proper handover had been done on the 4th May, which is 2 days before my last day. Last week, when I asked them about my salary, the HR Manager just told me that the CEO asked to hold my outstanding fees due to there is a report which needed to be submitted by me, i have submitted it to them and the thing is, i have resigned from the company and they want me to work and complete the report whereby, there is a person who is supposed to take charge of the task. But my ex-boss told him not to do anything about it and let me complete the report myself. Do you think this is fair to me as:
1) I am no longer the employee
2) Thay have hold my salary

i seriously need to know if i have the right to complain. and what is the step that i should do as for me this is unethical.

If your salary is below RM5000, you may complain to the Labour Department.
