Re: Employer didn't settled the amount

Hi,
My salary is above RM5000.I am foreigner and working in IT company as software engineer in KL.I left the company few month back and joined new company and my previous employer has given NOC(No objection certificate) to new employer.

At time of leaving, there was some amount due on previous company.
My previous company hasn't pay me yet.Now long period has passed (aprrox 3-4 months)

Can any one suggest what legal things can be done to get my money from the employer? Can i approach to labour court or i need to approach any other
govt. office?
Plz suggest.

The Labour Office does not have the power to deal with your case. What you can do is to get a lawyer to write to your ex company demanding payment. If the company failed to pay up, court action might have to be taken.

As far as I know, it depends on the amount of claim. Smaller sum goes to the magistrate court, larger ones go to the session court and very large one go to the High court. You can approach the magistrate court for more info about making claims.
