Re: Resignation Letter for Overseas

I am currently overseas for company assignment scheduled to return in late May only, but I've decided to tender my notice to employer as 2 months notice is required so i calculate by early June i can leave the company . Yesterday when i submit the letter by email to the HR they said that i cannot do that and it must be personally delivered , i protested because by the time i come back & submit means i have to wait until late July or August b4 my contract ends.

My question is submitting resignation letter through email valid or must be hand deliver only ?

Courier a letter of resignation confirm the email if you are worried that email was invalid. Under the Employment Act, which may not concern you, there is no provision to say resignation notice must be personally delivered. It only says it must be written.

yes. courier it attention to the company name, and the HR manager.

sure they hv to acknowledge receipt upon receiving, keep that copy from the courier company and keep it as proof!
