This is the scenario. A company has many subsidiaries and at those levels some have HR Managers. The the management goes and employes a Group HR Manager.

Now the company is financially bad and to retrench, there are proceudres so instead, the strategy is to assume jobs to the Group level because the Group with lack of activities are not having enough to keep everyone busy. So can they retrench the subsidiairy manangers? The group is reluctant to embark on that because they are the Group level are all new and so they are worried to get into trouble with the law. Instead, they are on the rounds to demoralise and demotivate to frustrate people to leave.

My question is, if the group level managers want to secure their jobs, they can just go ahead with retrechment and do away with dirty tricks isnt it?

Do have to make a point that as a group HR, the salary too will be much higher too.

I don't think it is right for me to comment anything without knowing the actual situation. Since they have appointed a Group HR manager, let him tackle the problem. He can always go to the Industrial Relations Department and discuss the problems with some of the senior officers there.

Off Day (Saturday) & Rest Day (Sunday)

Good day,

My company has planned for a team building activities on Saturday & Sunday, both are the non-working days.

Unfortunately, there is no clause of the ‘automatic entitlement for a rest day replacement’ in our Handbook.

Is there anything in the Malaysia’s Employment Act mentioning that I am entitled for a replacement?

Appreciate if you could share your knowledge and experience.
