Actually, there is nothing to compare. Different companies may formulate their own schemes depending on the requirements of the companies. .

Hi Siew,

What is the main criteria to approve a VSS application ? Should we only look at job redundancy or LIFO and depends on the situation ?

Hi Siew,
Is there any guidelines for vss. It needs to apply to labour office?
What if i would like to terminate a manager which he cant perform and also the dung stick in office.
Do you have any suggestion that we can get rid of him and without any trouble arise later.

To SC , Wai King and Janice

When a company is faced with a redundancy situation, the company instead of terminating the redundant workers by terminating their service, works out a VSS and offers it to those workers concerned. If they think the benefits in the VSS are attractive enough, they may accept them and leave the company voluntarily without any farce. However, the company must be careful in offering such a scheme. Thorough study of the situation must first be carried out. There is always a danger of good workers who have no problem getting employment elsewhere taking up the scheme and leave. Whatever it is, offer VSS only to those you don't them to be around. This is only my personal opinion and I think it will be advisable for you to consult the Industrial Relations Department or the Labour Department.

Employment Act 1955, covered only those 1) salary below RM1500
2) skill labour eg . technician, driver, machine operator
3) supervisor - foreman,immediate

how about technician who draw salary above RM1500. are they also cover under employment act 1955? which means have to follow the minimum requirement of employment act.

technician who draw salary above rm1500 was not under the scope of EA 1955.therefore, there fore, they not entitled for the minimum provision under the law.

for those ees that earn wages up rm5000,they only can do complaint about cash entitlement which are regarding to wages, maternity allowance and payment of ot.

therefore, for any problem regarding to cash entitlement, (for rm5000 wages ees) can go to labor dept, labor dept of sabah or sarawak.
