Re: Perfomance deduction

hi, i am having a problem with my boss on where he is paying us base on a basic salary of RM600 and additional RM100 every month. Now, he is suppose to even count for me the petrol claims i do for sales and also some chores for the office. However, recently my boss has been cutting my pay prompt to my "perfomance" was not good and I have to take a pay cut out of my basic salary. Now, he has been paying us base on an hourly rate, divided by time and days of work in which OT does not include/has none. So, if i work for 12 hours, i get 12 X rate per hour for that month. can they actually do the deduction like tat? Can they really count for us base on hours and no OT even after 8 hours work? I need help on this please.

I am afraid you have to seek help from the Labour Department.

I already talked to them, they told me that basic salary must not be deducted in any circumstances, however must be followed by the appointment letter requirements which the company did not give. So, how do i go through this? Furthermore, it seems that the labour office said this things can only be handled if report is done, why?

Yes, you will have to go to the Labour Office and lodge an official complaint.

dear kl siew,

There is another problem. Recently my company bought a XBOX 360 and my colleague and me accidentally plugged it in Malaysian Power instead of USA power which lead to the adapter to blow. Now my boss is asking me and my colleague to compensate with my boss in it which means i have to pay 1/3 for it. Now, we did know tat the adapter needed USA power until it blew. Should we compensate for it or ignore?
