Re: Prolonged Illness Leave

We have a staff who are now under prolonged illness leave for 1 year. She's suffering breast cancer and diabetes. However, she wants to start work again, and her doctor has certified that she will be fit to work in mid April. My question is, if the staff fall sick again after 2 or 3 months work, do we continue the prolonged illness period, or she's entitle to get another year of prolonged illness leave?

Well, she is going through a lot. Just do whatever you can to help her. If you are unionized and prolonged sick leave is covered by the CA, then follow the CA.

We have consult with MEF, and they advise us, if the staff happen to fall sick again, she will utilized her 60days hospitalization leave, and after that continue her balance of prolonged illness leave.

Dear Jess,
Our company practice 1 yr prolonged illness leave.
i - 3 months (full pay)
ii - 3 months (half pay)
iii- 6 months (unpaid)
