Re: shift allowance

i work in as a technician,with 2 days morning and 2 days night shift.but my employer didn't pay shift allowance to me.is it possible in Malaysia the employer have right to pay or not pay the shift allowance ?

Actually, the Employment Act has no provisions pertaining to payment of shift allowance. You can request for it from your employer. Tak payah malu malu. You don't ask, he wont give.

I wonder whether you can consult the Industrial Relations Department see whether they can help to reach some agreement of this shift allowance. Give it a try.

if you've signed the agreement, that stated shift allowance provided... you should have it...no worries

I had question about shift allowance? Before we paid shift allw to all workers but now due to cut cost management decided to take out shift allowance. I got advice from Labour officer that shift allowance minimum rate was RM2.50. Is it possible no night shift allowance pay to workers.
Please advise.
