Re: Sick Leave

When staff tendered resignation letter as contract stated, she will start to show her bad attitude in keeps on taking sick leave (e.g. 7 days in a month for 14 days per yr). As I understood that sick leave cannot be prorated, how should we prevent this happen? and the sickness is always stomache or head ache.

Such thing can happen especially when the employee tenders his resignation because of some unhappiness with his present job. Tell your panel doctor not to be too liberal in granting sick leave by letting him know the actual situation.

I had spoke to the panel doctor, but the replied was the clinic will loose business due to no employees visit the clinic again if no MC issue. This make me feel that now a day doctors are not professional.
Secondly, if employee went to see non-panel doctor, can we reject his MCs? b'cos when I contacted non-panel doctor to find out the reason, he replied that the clinic do not has any business with us.

Wow, what an answer. It is like selling MC. If I were you, I would appoint another panel doctor. As for non panel mc, you may reject unless that employee has good reasons to see an non panel doctor as stated in Section 60F(1)(b) of the Employment Act.
