Re: MC Claim

Dear Mr. Siew,

Very Good Morning, I would like to check with you that one of my staff take MC from diffrent clinic since we already have Panel Clinic. According to our company Rules is MC from different clinic is not valid but they only can claim the charges. Can a company set their own procedure for the in this case?

You better have very clear rules in this respect. What is the use of not recognizing the MC and yet you are willing to pay the charges.

Agree with Siew. If u don't recognize the mc why r u paying for the claim. U can set ur own rules as long as it doesn't go above the act. The policy must be clear b'coz policy like yours will be subjected to abuse. have a clear guideline on MC. eg : staff must go to panel clinics or government hospital ONLY. If they go non panel, strictly no unless justification is provided such as being outstation or emergency, panel closed etc and HOD to approve. In most cases, the medical leave wld be given but not the claim. HR will follow up with HOD if found any discrepencies or element of cheating.
