Re: Working on Sunday

My company request us to work on Sunday (not every week, just occasionally), will i get paid on that?

Are we not entitle to get paid (when we work on Sunday) if in employement contract have this clause:
"In view of your status, position and responsibilities, you may be expected to put in effort and work over and above the normal hours as and when required to meet the exigencies of the Company’s business. You will not be entitled to overtime rates of pay."

My normal woking hours is:
Monday - Friday : 8am - 5pm
lunch - 12pm - 1pm
Saturday: 8am - 12pm

Looking forward of your advice and thanks!

By "In view of your status......", I presume of are holding certain position and at least you are not within the scope of the Employment Act. Since it is done only occasionally, I think it is best not to make an issue of it. Let the company compensate you some other way like better bonus or some other perks.
