Re: Withdrawal of employment Offer

Hi,

We had a new staff who joined on 2nd Jan 09. However, on 3rd Jan 09, he smsed his superior to inform that he had to take emergency leave because his father is not feeling well and need to back his hometown to take care of him. On 4th Jan 09, he informed his superior again saying that he will take leave until further notice.

What can company do with this kind of cases? Can we withdraw his offer by issuing him withdrawal of employment offer ? He signed the offer letter & in the letter stated that either party need to give 2 weeks notice if intended to terminate the services. Besides, we have a clause stated that absences without leave for 3 days will subject to termination of employment. In this case, he did inform us about his absences.

Please advise.

You can safely say that he is not going to work for you anymore.Write a letter demanding for 2 weeks salary from him as indemnity in lieu of notice.
