Re: Public holiday replacement

I work a 5 day 8-5 week .
My week starts Tuesday and ends Saturday
Sun Monday my rest day.
Query: Public Holiday falls on a Sunday and Monday am I entitled to replacement for both days? The recent Hari Raya fell on Sunday and Monday . My employer has informed staff that Monday should be treated like others Saturday so no replacement. This will also apply to any future PH that falls on a Monday.

Your employer is right, no replacement for Monday. Only large companies like banks will follow Government's practice.

am i right in assuming on that basis that any employee's off day that is not a Saturday will fall under this i.e. if employee's off days are Tuesday and Sunday and the public holiday falls on Tuesday then the employee is not entitled to a replacement as Tuesday = Saturday

Now, I think I better seek some clarification from you. Are you working on roster, which means your rest days and off days are not necessary fixed on Saturdays and Sundays but fixed according to a roster?

Sorry for the confusion and Thank you for your response
The company's official off days are Sunday and Monday.
I really wanted clarification that the term, " no replacement if a public holiday falls on a Saturday" can actually refer to any day a company has as their other official off day besides Sunday. In our company's case Monday. So, "no replacement if a public holiday falls on a Monday our off day " is allowed.
It is not on a roster basis
