Re: Maternity Leave

Hi,

A confirmed staff who has been service 1 year is pregnant on 09.05.2009. She applied 3months(until Aug09) unpaid leave to rest. In Sept, she come back for work. Does she entitle to maternity allowance when she deliver in Feb2010?

Yes, she is entitled as the period of unpaid leave will not affect the continuity of the period of employment with you.

My company is 5 days works per week. It is understood that if public holiday fall on saturday , it will not have any replacement on the following working day. But how about wages for daily paid workers, are they entitled to one additional paid public holiday wage if the public holiday is one of the ten (10) selected gazetted holiday in my company.

Is the Maternity leave entitlement of 60 days inclusive of public holiday and sunday?

I am expecting and EDD on 4th May 2010 - I am planning to start my maternity leave on 15th April 2010 - 14th June 2010 (60 days to be exact) is that the way it supposed to be calculated?

Thank you for your prompt attention.
Best regards, Dora
