Re: Employment Act - First Schedule

[Section 2(1)]
2. Any person who, irrespective of the amount of wages he earns in a month, has entered into a contract of service with an employer in pursuance of which --
(3) he supervises or oversees other employees engaged in manual labour employed by the same employer in and throughout the performance of their work.

Is this mean if I am a manager supervising a group of factory operator, I am coverd by this Act even if my salary is above RM1500?

The one who make the decision may want to know the facts. He may want to look into your appointment or contract of service with the company or your job description before he can give a proper ruling. If the contract says you are employed to supervise the factory operators and nothing else, I think by facts, you can be one covered by the EA. As I see it, it has to be determined according to facts.
