Re: termination after verbal renewal of contract

Dear Sir,

my colleague is an office asst. with salary of RM1K. He was verbally informed that hsi contract of 1 year will be renewed but company never issue new contract. After 2 weeks of expiry of contact the company terminated him due to poor discipline and performance. What can he claim from the company? He was only given 1 week notice

Advise you friend to bring along a copy of the one year contract and consult the Labour Department see whether he can make a claim against the company.
