Re: HELP! Company forcing employee to change position or resign.

My company had just been bought over by another company. Apparently they are trying to make us (the existing staff) resign by forcing most of us to different departments which is totally unrelevant to our appointment letter. So they could bring in their own staff from the other company.

Please help!! If we resign on our own, we won't be getting any compensation. But if we don't resign, they will do their best to make our lives miserable.

What can we do? Can we reject and ask them to terminate us if they insist in tranfering us?

For such a matter, I suggest some of you go to the Labour Department and discuss the problems with the officers there.

Meanwhile acquaint yourself with the Employment(Termination and Layoff Benefits) Regulations at http://pesaraonline.net/terminationbenefits.htm

I'm sorry... must we go in a group or can we complaint as an individual? Because a few of the staff had already decided to give up and hand in their resignation letter... *sigh* Doesn' it mean we have to follow the majority?

No, you may do it alone. You decide what you think is best for you.
