Re: contribution of socso

What should we do when there was no action taken by socso authorities after we made a complaint. They just investigated the company and issued them a demand letter BUT NO FURTHER action was taken even the employer had failed to make the payment for the socso contribution and this case had yet to settle after 2 years? I'm not sure whether the officer from socso department had given any table money to withdraw the case but one thing i'm 100% sure is the employer didnt pay the contribution.!!!!

Do find out who is the officer handling this case, and check with him/her the status of action and the possible timeline to hear from them. I don't think SOCSO officers would accept bribery that easily, becasue if the employer were to bribe them, might as well pay the overdue SOCSO contribution with that money.

Do write again to the Director General regarding this matter... without quoting the assumption of bribery. Do furnish a photocopy of the letter of complaint that has been filed and the name of the officer in charge. Let's do it tactfully.

One more thing, is it compulsory for directors themselves to contribute socso?

Not compulsory, as they might be covered by other insurance plan.
