What are the legal implications if the worker under contract employment (more than 2 yrs) being renewed after his/her contract has expired without any gap?

Can he/she claim an equal benefits with permanent staff? What are the best no of days or weeks of the gap should be given?

There are pros and cons for being contract staff or permanent staff. Usually there are not much difference in the benefits for both. In many MNCs, the contract staff might be offered a permanent job when the contract period ends. But it is subject to the need of the company which takes into account the job description and specification of the particular position. As for the gap, no provision for it by Law.
