Re: Replacement leave or O/T
Our Company used to provide replacement annual leave for staffs (executive and non-excutive level) for attending day Seminar/ Training (9.00am -530pm) on non-work day i.e. Saturday or Sunday organized by our HR. Our company observed 5 day work week. As of April 2009, this replacement leave was stopped, no O/T etc . Coming August , there will be two Saturdays for such Seminar and no replacement leave or whatsoever. Our HR department informed in her email it is compulsory and unless there is a valid reason ,subject to ok, one no to attend.
Question 1 is , what rights do we have considering this is non-work day and is our break , and can Management imposed that it is compulsory?HR preferred to organize Seminar/ Training on weekend (non work day !)
Question 2 is, need Company to provide compensation eg. O/T if not replacement annual leave on non-work day eg. Saturday or Sunday for include of attending seminar.
