If you are covered by the Employment Act (your salary not more than RM1500), then the notice you should give is 4 weeks.

To Snow. There is nothing much I can tell then. By the way, don't you have anything said verbally about notice period? Also no company handbook, memo about notice period? Whatever it is, one should do as the saying "come with goodwill and go with goodwill". If you just take your salary and disappear, that may reflect badly on you as you may have some unfinished business to be taken over, company properties to hand over and so on. Who knows, your new employer may one day contact your former employer to verify something about you, do you think your former employer will have good words for you?
