Re: Resign and receive salary by cheque on 7 of the month

I had tendered resignation letter. Based on their policy, they said they will issue cheque as salary to resigned staff because of the ISO procedure. they issue cheque for last month salary on 7 of the month, sometime the day will fall on friday, in this case, the resigned staff only can get the salary on 11 or 12 of the month which is on next tuesday or wednesday, is it this is the correct way for the employer to do so?

It is quite common to see a few days delay for the audit of the salary for the final month, especially for those who are entitled for allowances or claims. Most importantly you get what you are entitled for eventually.

According to Sec.19, "Every employer shall pay to each of his employees not later than the 7th day after the last day of any wage period......".
