I would like to find out is there a limitation on the number of year a leave can be carried forward.

It is up to the companies to decide as to the number of years of leave that can be carried forward as long as the parties are happy about it, but under Section 60E(2) of the Employment Act, the most is one year:

" 60E

(2) The employer shall grant and the employee shall take such leave not later than twelve months after the end of every twelve months continuous service and any employee who fails to take such leave at the end of such period shall thereupon cease to be entitled thereto: "
