Dear Mr. Siew, my company working hours is from 8.00am until 5.40pm and 5 days work. Start from next month, my company will change working hours from 8.00am until 8.00pm for 4 days work and rest 3 days(Friday, Saturday and Sunday). isn't transgress labour law.

If you look at Section 60A of the Employment Act quoted below, it looks like it is not alright for the company to do so. Better consult the Labour Department before you implement the change.

60A. Hours of work.

(1) Except as hereinafter provided, an employee shall not be required under his contract of service to work:

(a) more than five consecutive hours without a period of leisure of not less than thirty minutes duration;

(b) more than eight hours in one day;

(c ) in excess of a spread over period of ten hours in one day;

(d) more than forty-eight hours in one week:
