Re: Termination during probation

If I choose to terminate a staff during his probation period ie. put him on one month's notice as stated in the contract, do I have to give any reasons, or worse still, issue 3 warnings and conduct a domestic inquiry before I can do so?

Yes, you still have to have good reason even if you terminate his service based on the contract of service. Giving warnings depends on the type of offences, how serious are the offences and so on.

Most of the time it's no-show at work (no mc produced) and informing the office very late, frequently being late for work. Problem is it didn't happen 2 days consecutively. 1 written warning has been issued. If this persists, do I have to issue 3 warnings and conduct a DI?
