Re: Change of new working hours

Dear sir, fyi ours is manufacturing company and the old days our factory dept are 5days work (8.30am-6.30pm) with 1.5 hours break while our office staff working time is 5.5 days (8.30am-5.30am) and saturday was 8.30am-12noon.

Due to the recent fuel price increase, our boss has implement our working hours to 5days work start from 8am-6pm (10hours working) for office & factory. For office staff, we are getting 1hour break for lunch while for factory staff they are getting 1hour lunch break and 30mins tea break.

My question is, why is office working hour is more than factory staff. And working for 10hours per day is very long for me. Please advise.

I think you shouldn't grumble. You can have plenty of rest with 2 days off. Work conditions in the office and the factory may be quite different. Ask your boss why should there be such difference. .
