Commenced work on 5 March 2008. Appt. letter states 3-6 months prob.period, termination notice 1 month either way. I want to leave now. Legal eagle friends say since I have not been confirmed, I'm not bound by the 1 month notice of termination clause. That I can just pack up and leave. Is this true? Don't want to land in court over this. Please advise. Thank you

Unless it is stated that notice during probationary period is 24 hours either side, then it is not true. You have to give 1 month notice.
