I've tendered early June and giving 3 months notice, I should be leaving early September. My new company agrees to pay me out for a month and I've signed my offer letter which stated my commencement date would be 1st of August. My current manager refuses to release me. She claims that she has the right to do so and that I need to follow up with the project tasks. She would only agree to release me end of August.
Also, if I refused she would make me serve my full 3 months until September and told me that my leave balance would be compensate.
Does she has the right to do that? Please advice. Thank you.
