Re: VSS during pregnancy

My company is not doing well and is offering VSS for its staffs. I am suppose to go for maternity in two months time. Does the company is eligible to pay me my maternity leave if i opt for this VSS?

Ask the company to include the two months maternity benefit in the VSS scheme also.

It is required by the law for my employer to include the 2 months maternity benefits in the VSS scheme? Because according to my HR HOD, they have done everything according to Labor Law.

I think you are not covered by the Employment Act (meaning salary not more than RM1500). But what about your contract of service, is maternity benefit stated in there? If it is, ask your HR to consider including the benefit in the VSS, negotiate with them. What Labour Law they are talking about?

I think they are talking about the Malaysia's Labor Law. And you are right, my basic salary exceed RM 1500.
