My superior is charismatic person but at the same time he's being bossy..yeah well I know he is the head of our department. does it means he can do whatever he wants even against law? here is the thing..we have four compulsory public holidays isn't it?..this coming is one of the compulsory one right?but he said to us that last public holiday (agong's birthday) is our last chance to hv the holiday and after this we hv to work during public holiday and plan to replace the day instead of double pay us..what do you think we should do..do we hv choice?pls give suggestion..thanks in advance.

Apart from the four compulsory holidays, the other 6 days can be substituted as stated below. But the important words are "by agreement between the employer and an employee ..." . For you, the best way is to refer the matter to the Labour Department for an official ruling.

Provided that by agreement between the employer and an employee any other day or days may be substituted for one or more of the said remaining six gazetted public holidays provided for in subsection (1)(a); ............."
