Re: Absent for period of notice termination

Good day KL Siew,

Just need your advice on the above matter.

My clerk has tendered her resignation 2 weeks ago with 1 month notice and she has been abseent for 2 days ago.

What will be my action to be taken against her?

A show cause letter for absent without approval?

Appreciate your prompt responce.

Thank you

Yes, you can warn her and there will of course be no salary for the 2 days absence.

Dear KL Siew,

Which means i only can deduct her pay for the 2 days absent?

What if she did not report to work after i issue show cause letter to her?

Can i stated in the letter that she have to pay equivalent of 1 month indemnity in lieu of notice?

Scenario:
She tendered resignation on 2/5/08 and she been absent on 8/05/08 until to-date.

Please advice,

Thank you.

I see! Then you can claim indemnity in lieu of the short notice.
