Dear Mr.Siew,

I have a staff go to Hong Kong next week, my company management request her to quarantine at home 7 days with unpaid after came back from hong kong, is it against the labour law? should the company pay her salary when she quarantine? Kindly advice.

What right has your company got to quarantine her for 7 days? However, if she is quarantined by medical authority for suspected A(H1N1) infection, you may have a point. If your company just wanted to play safe, pay her to stay at home. That's how I feel since you asked for my views.
