Dear Sir,
1.Is it lawfully to hold employee overtime & salary for a month due to their resignation due to unforeseen activity such as canteen deduction & other deduction. (work in plantation)
2.How about those trainees on practical work? Do they need to contribute EPF & SOCSO? Was it compulsory? On Saturday, they have theory class? Need deduction EPF n SOCSO?
Thank you

1. The employer cannot withhold payment for one month. A few days may be reasonable for the employer to verify that amounts owed to the estate canteen or shop. The employees can complain to the Labour Department.

2. I don't know sort of understanding or agreement the company has with the organazations that send their trainees or students to the company for practical training work. Read the agreement first.
