Re: termination benefits

We are a group of people employed by a company. This company has sold its business to another a a huge profit. They have given us termination notice but has not offered the staff anything by way of termination benefits. They have arranged for us to be employed by the new owner but we lose our seniority and some of us are transferred to another venue. Our company's excuse for terminating us is cessation of business but we feel that they have made a lot of money out of cessation.
Do we have a case against them?

I would advise you to pay a visit to the Labour Department and consult them about your problems. Meanwhile please read up Employment (Termination and Lay off )Benefits Regulations 1980 which can be found on the website or use URL
