I was employed in the company for 10 months ago and gave birth to a baby girl on my 30 week of pregnancy. But unfortunately my baby died on the day of birth. I am yet to be legally married. But my company refused to give me any maternity leave with allowance stating that i had committed an inmoral act. Futher i had been employed for only 10 months and after all my baby died.Please explain the rules governing maternity terms and conditions and advise on my rights for maternity leave and allowance.

The Employment Act does not state that unmarried females are not entitled to paid maternity leave. In your case, you can make a complaint at the Labour Department.

我想知道员工的产假为期60天,指的是60天工作天,有没有包括公共假期及星期日在内?

No, the 60 days include rest days and public holidays, not 60 working days.

我公司有一位女员工,在这工作不超过两年,薪水少过RM1500。现在她刚怀孕数月。我公司有意开除她,并不是因为她怀孕了,而是她表现差强人意。我公司该应该赔偿她多少作为她的补偿?
