Section 34 of the Employment Act, applies to " work in any industrial or agricultural undertaking " like rubber estate, factories. Employers in such undertaking must apply to the Labour Department for permission:

" Provided that the Director-General may, on application made to him in any particular case, exempt in writing any female employee or class of female employees from any restriction in this subsection, subject to any conditions he may impose. "

What industry are you working in? It does not apply for those working in commercial undertaking like hotel, restaurant, offices and so on.

In those industries, it is not lawful for employers to require females to work in those hours. The DG may set a number of conditions such as transport, shift allowance and so when granting exemption. I suggest you contact the Labour Department for details You may also complain to them.
