Re: Is part-time employee protected by Employment Act?
I am a high school student. And i had worked as part-time merchandiser for a company for 2 weeks in September this year. But the company keeps withholding our (me and 2 other friends of mine) payment even until now we have not received the deserved paycheck from this particular company. I did contact my employer but the feedback she gave is telling me to wait.
So, at this moment, I am worried in fact this employment was validated only by verbal contract, though I retrieved the offering from an email.
My question are, 1) does the employer have the authority to withhold part-time worker's payment?
2) What is the maximum duration for a company to process and deliver the payment to its part-time worker?
3) I did fill up a part-time employment form that provided by the company, could the form become an evidence for Employment Act to take action in case I fail to recieve my payment?
