If your employer always paid salary later than the 7th day of the following month, you can make a complaint at the Labour Department.

i am really confuse regarding this salary payment date.
my company practicing thesalary cut off on 20th of every month.
when am i suppose to pay the staff salary? 7th Day from the cut-off date? or 7th Day of the following month?

please advise.

Not 7th day from cut-off date. When you have calculated staff's salary on 20th, you can pay their salary any time after that as long as not later than the 7th day of the following month.

Mr KL Siew,

What if the employer was late for two month in paying salary to employee? For example. Salary for the month of March still not paid and now is already almost the end of April. This situation have been lasted for few months. Even though when the employer do pay, they will just paid the employee one month salary and the other will be next following month or even worse two months later. If employee report this at the Labour Department. What will the department do about it ? What is the procedure in reporting this situation and will the identity of the employee be reveal ?

Hope you can give some suggestions.

Hi, My company is always paying us late also. But the cheaque issue is on the 3rd, but we could only get it on 9th.
Between the commission also hold us for 2 months, means may's commission, 15th July only can get, is this their right to do so?

Hi, My company is always paying us late also. They will pay us on the 9th or later than that, and when they issue the cheque, they wrote 3rd on it.
Regarding the commission, they will hold it for 2 months, meaning may's commission, 15th of July only can get, do they have the right to do so? And in the appointment letter they didn't make any statement regarding the commission, but by right we do have. Is there anything i can do about it?
