Need more information. What are the actual working hours of your company as stated in the contract of service? Are the employees paid extra for working on the one Saturday?

our contact just state working once satuday a month. let said if we go outstation for satuday we get allowance only. example we go outstation friday to sunday. company just pay us RM240-RM280. and the working hour from 8am to 1am more then 12 hour a day.

if we request to work extra saturday in local, KL (sometime we have an event in hotel on weekend) company just pay us RM20 allowance and the working hour from 9am to 7pm.

Based on the information given by you, I don't think I can give you any helpful answer. The best way for you to do is to file a claim at the Labour Department against your employer for whatever such as overtime, working on restdays which you think your employer has failed to pay you.

Dear Sir,

i have the same issue wih cystal. i also wonder wether i can claim for salary is i working on holiday.
my agreement is just require we work once saturday in a month, but now i work more then one sometime maybe need to outstation work until midnight. i ask for additional salary for sat & sun, my boss answer me that his pay me allowance. but the allowance is not salary, somemore the allowance is so little just RM240 for 3 days work in outstation for friday to sunday the time from 8am till 1.30am.
under the labour law can i claim the salary for the additional work although company pay me allowance?

Hi KL,
I have new inquiry. Now my working company has change the service agreement that we no longer working on Saturday. So we expend our working hour from 9-6pm to 9-6.30pm.
My question is:
Do we allow claiming if we request to work on Saturday?

It looks like you people are now working 5-day week. If the employees are required to work on any Saturday, they should be paid accordingly. Clarify with your company when you are required to work on Saturday whether you will be paid extra.

Yes I already ask the HR department regarding this issue.
But so far their never give me actually answer yet, but she said usually company will just pay RM20 allowance for Saturday working (KL), if outstation will pay RM20+RM30 that all. It unfair and exclude the labour law. If companies insist give me salary for working on Saturday then I will make complain to labour law.
Any advice?

It looks like the sum is not sufficient. Seek advice from the Labour Department or the Industrial Relations Department.
