is this proposal still on hold?
actually ILO purposes it to be 90 days, rite?
will it b unfair for the employer to give 90 days leave to the women for the maternity leave?

How about include in one of your opinions "... don't give paternity leave to the father, give the proposed 7 days to the mother instead..... men are useless in this type of situation, they can be more a nuisance rather than of help.....or they may be enjoying themselves elsewhere instead of helping... an orang-jaga or a confinement lady will definitely do a better job.."

Seriously, in Malaysia there is no law requiring employers to provide paternity leave and as for maternity leave, you can read up Part IX of the Employment Act which can be found on this website.

For general info you may search the internet for it. Use search words such as "paternity leave", "maternity leave etc". There are plenty of info on such subjects.

thanks !!!
hmm....i think the reasons for the men to have the paternity are giving them to settle the procedure and enjoying the birth of the child.
anyway, thanks.
